What do you think about the proposed modal filter on School Road?

Working great - loads more walking and cycling happening as even the most idle realise its easier to walk than drive half a mile on a cold engine (ie Maximum pollution mode) Lets see the whole area covered PLEASE in the next phase of the LTN

Since the introduction of the tubs of dirt on School road , I find that my two journeys a day from Hillcrest road to Paton Grove means an extra 2 mile a day using the Greenhill Road, Billesley Lane , Oxford road and Cotton lane diversion . That adds up to around an extra 700 miles driving a year along the roads I have just mentioned . Who is going to benefit from this ? I still have to drive along School road anyway , minus about 15 yards . An alternative route might be up St Marys row but it is no right turn at the traffic lights .

Traffic mounting the pavement and speeding have been problems for years on Scotland Road. These could have been solved ages ago with the introduction of bollards and traffic calming. Putting a modal filter in has 9nly served to redirect traffic to other roads such as Blenhrim Road

I cannot see any reason to have modal filters to Cambridge Road apart from to divert rat running to adjacent roads. Very nice for Cambridge road residents, not so nice for other residents. Why are they so special? It is unacceptable to link this to the LTN initiative. An LTN is 9nly appropriate if introduced as a coherent scheme, identifying distributor roads as part of that. This is a mess

I'm pleased about being part of the project but am very concerned about the traffic being moved onto other residential roads. Oxford Road has become very busy with traffic jams during rush hour, cars speeding at other times of the day, and drivers beeping their horns due to bear misses at junctions. Something needs to be done to ensure that a 20 mile per hour road with a school on it does not become a main thoroughfare. It runs parallel to Wake Green Rosd which is a main road and traffic needs to be directed there.
