I have always found Southside inaccessible from where l live in the Jewellery Quarter, and the changes that have been introduced make it even more inaccessible. I am a disabled Blue Badge holder.

It's made it very difficult to drive to my apartment block. I paid extra money to buy an apartment with a parking space as and I'm concerned that this could be wasted if/when I decide to move as it's so difficult to get to the carpark. I have to drive around to various sites for my job and if I am coming down Suffolk Street I have to go all the way down to Belgrave Middleway to get back via Pershore Road. I appreciate that you don't want create rat routes, but this a ridiculous situation for residents. It doesn't look like devaluing the apartments of residents by making parking extremely difficult has been considered at all!

I appreciate that cyclists need to be accommodated and the whole point of the CAZ Zone is to reduce pollution, but you cannot get rid of cars entirely whilst still having apartment blocks with parking. You need to do more to publicise meetings with residents so that we don't find about them after changes have been discussed.

The restrictions on left turns off the A38 are both counter-intuitive and dangerous for pedestrians, cyclists and other road users. There is now frequently a long line of cars queueing for the left turn off the A38 at Belgrave Interchange, increasing journey times and adding to pollution as the cars are running for longer and idling/moving at low speeds. The current barriers in place to prevent left turns are useless, and are frequently moved or ignored - cars frequently make the left turn anyway which is a risk to other road users and has already resulted in at least one accident that I'm aware of. The changes therefore currently fail in both reducing pollution and improving road safety. At least one of the left turns should be reinstated, and the others - if made permanent - should be blocked off permanently with fixed barriers and signage to prevent misuse. The temporary weekend closures on Bromsgrove and Hurst Street to allow "al-fresco" dining are a better idea, and I would definitely like to see more of this in the future, especially during the summer when businesses would benefit the most.

Do you have any ideas for future improvements to the Southside area?

Some sort of speed management solution, e.g. speed bumps, on Bromsgrove Street would improve road safety and reduce noise for residents as - especially at night - cars often speed down there. The junction of Bromsgrove Street and Hurst Street by Tesco would benefit from the installation of a proper pedestrian crossing, as the gap between the lights turning red in one direction and green in another is very brief giving only a few seconds for pedestrians to cross.
