Do you have any comments about the changes made last year?

I like the latest addition of cycle paths, which will encourage me to start thinking about cycling the city rather than just walking it. I do not feel Birmingham is a cycle friendly city and these improvements are welcomed. I also think better designed new residential buildings should be a council priority rather than identikit brick construction with no unique architectural features.

Which of the following would you like to see in Eastside (Digbeth)?

• Less street clutter

• Wider pavements

• More trees and planting

Do you have any ideas for future improvements to the Eastside (Digbeth) area?

A coherent strategy ( that will also be implemented, not just presented on paper as CGI imagery ) for mature tree planting and soft landscape in the area around Cheapside, Bradford Street, High Street and beyond is vital; Digbeth looks rundown, dirty and dusty, not really a suitable place for living long term, nor a suitable place for walking. In a nutshell, PLANT PROPER TREES!

Digbeth has a long way to go. It is still basically a race track and a spot to do nos. With all the developments coming soon, focus must be given to traffic calming and generally making it a people centred zone. A lot of the roads can be shut to cars easily and speed limits should be lowered and enforced in all remaining (have you heard of speed cameras?). Let’s get ahead of the planned development with permanent properly thought out cycle lanes, and more places for people!

This area is a no-go area for me, and the recent changes just worsen it.

I feel that the bus gate along Moor Street Queensway is beneficial, however, there is still large volumes of traffic which make it difficult for cyclists.

Do you have any ideas for future improvements to the Eastside (Digbeth) area?

There is an excessive amount of car parking areas in the surrounding Digbeth area. This needs to be analysed to see if portions of the land allocation could be reclaimed for natural green space, as there is a severe lack of it within this area and causes a lack of community/to feel empty or lifeless
