Do you have any comments about the Bradford Street pop-up cycle lane installed last year?

Very supportive of principle. As others have commented, need to make improvements to sort practicalities for cyclists (eg safer junctions, remove bumps). Also actually think this lane is on the wrong road. High st deritend is where the lane should go in. Even with new metro, road is ridiculous wide and unpleasant...and actually where you want to get cyclists visible (rather than hidden away on a the back st).

Do you have any suggestions for further improvements to make it safer and easier to cycle here?

Move th,e high street...or second best, sort segregation, bump and junction issues on bradford st. Do we need bradford st as a through road, if cars will continue to have other street options (he high st)?

This cycle lane makes it much safer to cycle up and down Bradford Street. I hope it is made permanent.

I've used it a couple of times on my route to work in Digbeth and expect to use it regularly once covid-19 restrictions are eased and I'm working in the office more often again.

I think this needs to be made permanent with some small changes. There is a pinch point by the alcester road junction which needs to be cleared to allow traffic to flow freely, by removing some on street parking. The traffic lit junctions need to be reconfigured to improve things for cyclists crossing the junctions. There needs to be a segregated cycle lane linking this into the city centre.

I found a few motorists were entering/crossing the cycle lane without taking enough care to look around, but in general I am in favour of this cycle lane. It's great having bollard protection to stop close passes from motorists and it provides a nice alternative route between the city centre and Digbeth, it's preferable to cycling along the adjacent B4100.

Could do with improved signage and perhaps extended down Birchall St with a crossing to connect with Heath Mill Lane.

• I don't

I’ve only tried this route once to see how it would help me to access the city centre by bike. It’s a reasonable start to what could be a very good cycle route, however, some parts feel dangerous and need improving, especially at the junction with Alcester Street. The bumps in the lane are far too big, probably unnecessary and enough to put me off using this route in future. It’s far quicker to get into the City Centre via High Street Deritend/Digbeth High Street.

Improvements at junctions are definitely needed to make the route safe. Remove the speed bumps to give cyclists a clear run along the route and prevent damage to bikes.
